Sale Convenience Store Ram-Raided For Cash Machine

A Nisa Local store on Manor Avenue in Sale, Greater Manchester was ram-raided last month (September), with the suspects attempting to flee in a van with a stolen cash machine in it.

The van they were in collided with three cars and a man was arrested after trying to flee on foot before being brought to a standstill by a police dog, according to Greater Manchester Police.

The 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and dangerous driving. Luckily, nobody was injured in the incident and the cash machine was recovered, although the store was badly damaged, the BBC reports.

It’s always scary to hear about stories like this happening right on your doorstep, but you can help to protect your business from a similar attack by investing in anti-ram bars and posts, as well as roller shutters to boost security.

Anti-ram posts can be placed in front of the shop and your shutters, fitted to the ground so they provide strong resistance against cars being driven through the front of your store.

And there are various different options for roller shutters, whether it’s electric, manual or chain operated. These are usually fitted on shops, workshop units, offices and other commercial outlets. They’re made from galvanised steel but you can go for something less industrial thanks to powder coating – which means your shutters can be painted to match your brand.

Motor roller shutter doors can be fitted on warehouse doors, made from galvanised material but with a three phase motor to help with frequent deliveries.
